Narcissus, one of China's traditional famous flowers, is a variant of the French multiflowered narcissus and has been cultivated in China for more than a thousand years. Narcissus blooms in winter and spring every year, with a fragrant aroma when in bloom, making it the first choice for home gardening.
The flowers of narcissus are small, white, yellow, or pink blossoms with a fragrant and unique scent, symbolizing steadfast love, thus they are deeply loved by scholars. Zhu Xi wrote a famous line describing narcissus flowers: "Where does the fairy in the water come from, with green sleeves, yellow crown, and white jade flowers." It is said that narcissus flowers are transformed from the melancholic Luo River fairy, hence the elegant title "fairy of the rippling waves."
The most common color is white, with a small amount of yellow and pink.
Based on the region of origin, there is a difference between Chinese narcissus and foreign narcissus, with all varieties except Chinese narcissus being foreign narcissus. Foreign narcissus has a very light scent or no scent at all, and the flower shape is relatively larger compared to Chinese narcissus. If Chinese narcissus is considered a modest beauty, then foreign narcissus can be regarded as a lady from a wealthy family.

How to hydroponic
Before hydroponic cultivation of narcissus flowers, they should be washed and cut, with a cutting depth of about 2~3 cm. Soak them in water overnight, wash the sticky liquid around the cut, then place the narcissus bulb in a container, adding water to cover one-third of the bulb. You can add quartz sand or cobblestones to the container to secure the bulb.
Generally, narcissus flowers just planted need to be changed once a day, then the frequency of changing water gradually increases, changing water every 2~3 days. When the flower buds are formed, you can change the water once a week. It takes 40 days to 2 months for hydroponically cultivated narcissus flowers to bloom, with a flowering period that can last up to a month.
