Photinia, Rosaceae Photinia, evergreen shrubs or small trees. The branches are brown, the leaves are leathery, similar to the common large-leaf yellowhorn, except that the leaves of Photinia are longer and thinner.

The flowers of Photinia grow at the top of the branches, compound corymbose inflorescence, with dense clusters of flowers. The flowers are white, each with 5 small round petals, like a miniaturized plum blossom. Here are some photos of Photinia flowers I took the day before yesterday.

When the fruit of Photinia matures, it is red, with a long fruiting period, especially in the cold autumn and winter seasons, those little red fruits catch the eye.

In daily life, there are generally two types of Photinia, one is Photinia, also known as Chinese Photinia, and the other is Photinia serratifolia.

Photinia serratifolia is a hybrid of the Photinia genus, with new leaves in spring being red and relatively smoother. In spring, when the new leaves of Photinia serratifolia sprout, the whole tree is bright red and very beautiful.

Photinia is native to the tropical regions of North America and Southeast Asia. It has a strong adaptability, is not picky about soil, and can grow in most areas south of the Qinling Mountains in China.
