Plum bonsai is a treasure of traditional art in China, and its modeling skills contain the essence of thousands of years of culture. Through the use of different modeling techniques, ordinary plum trees can be transformed into poetic miniature landscapes. Mastering core production skills can not only show the natural beauty of plum blossoms, but also create unique artistic value. Main body modeling technique Youlongmei: The curved trunk and Qiu branches show charm. The "S-shaped" main body shaping method is adopted: first fix the main body with a harness and twist it to the right to form the first bend and then fix it. After the wood is shaped, make a left bend in reverse, and alternately repeat it to form the dragon body curve. New branches are pruned with "dragon claws" every year. After 5-7 years of cultivation, they can show the trend of swimming dragons exploring the sea. Gunlongmei: Natural distortion and self-interest are the preferred variety of Yudie Longyoumei. Its branches have natural spiral growth characteristics. During maintenance, only the dense branches need to be pruned regularly to retain the natural distorted shape. Pick the heart in time after spring flowering and control the length of new branches to within 15cm. Special shaping process: The ring-shaped shape has an ancient meaning. During the seedling period, the trunk is twisted into a ring at a distance of 5cm from the root, fixed with copper wire, and then cultivated for maintenance. After the ring is healed, the upright trunk is cultivated by vertical rods, and 3-4 lateral branches are retained for cloud shape. Special attention should be paid to the anti-corrosion treatment of the ring parts. Plum splitting: Select old piles with a diameter of more than 8cm to create artistic conception, and chop vertically to retain 1/3 of the skin layer. After treating the cross section with ferrous sulfate solution, the embryos were planted and cultured for 2 years. After the split surface naturally rotted to form a ravine texture, new branches were cultured in pots. Branch shaping skills Shunfeng Plum: When the slanting trunk is moving, the main trunk is tilted at 45 degrees, and the side branches are pulled down with metal wires to form a waterfall shape. Focus on cultivating the top tip revolving shape, and control the growth of branches on the south side through leaf picking to maintain visual balance. The production type of plum bonsai hanging plum: The grafting technique is innovative. Straight plum is used as the rootstock to cultivate the main skeleton, and the hanging branch variety is grafted on the secondary branch. The embedded bud grafting method is used to operate when the tree sap is flowing in spring. After grafting, the bag is bagged and moisturized for 20 days, and the survival rate reaches more than 90%. Root plastic art exposed root style: Root lifting techniques show the characteristics of the seedling period, use palm silk to tie the lateral roots into radial shapes. During planting, the soil is piled 3cm higher than the edge of the basin. When changing pots every year, 2 cm of soil is dropped, and high-pressure water guns are used to wash the surface soil. Eagle claw type hanging roots can be formed after 3 years.
