June Snow is mainly distributed in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Jiangxi, Guangdong, and other southeastern and central provinces of China. It is also found in Japan and (T-W). It often grows wild in mountains, by streams, and on rocky banks. It is a subtropical species that prefers warm and humid climate conditions, semi-shaded and sunny environments, loose and fertile soil with good drainage, neutral to slightly acidic soil. It is not very cold-resistant, requiring a greenhouse above 0℃ in winter. It has strong germination and tillering abilities, making it resistant to pruning and easy to shape. In southern gardens, it is often planted outdoors under forest canopies and in shrubbery. In the north, it is commonly grown in pots and kept indoors during winter. It is also considered an excellent material for bonsai.
