The Aloe genus (Scientific Name: Aloe) is commonly known as Aloe, native to the Mediterranean and Africa. It is a perennial herbaceous plant of the Asphodelaceae family. There are over 300 wild Aloe species documented, mainly distributed in Africa and other regions. This plant is quite popular among the public, mainly because it is easy to cultivate and is an ornamental plant with both flowers and leaves.
Only six varieties are edible, and the Aloe varieties with medicinal value mainly include: Aloe Barbadensis (also known as巴巴多斯芦荟 or Aloe Vera), Curacao Aloe (distributed in Northern Africa and the West Indies), Cape Aloe (distributed in Southern Africa), Yuanjiang Aloe, etc.
