Aloe Propagation Methods

A small tip for life, introducing the related experience of aloe propagation in flower planting. Next, the site editor will introduce to the netizens.

Aloe cannot pollinate naturally and it is difficult to propagate by seeds. The main propagation method relies on asexual reproduction. Spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) are the best periods. Generally, it takes about a week for the plants to grow new root systems after transplanting in these two seasons.

Division Propagation: There are two methods. One is to dig up the mother plant from the ground or remove it from the pot before division propagation, taking more roots, and then split the whole cluster into single plants with a sharp knife. The other method is to directly dig up the young plants around the mother plant, including the roots, and cut off the underground stem connecting to the mother plant without affecting it.

Cutting Propagation: Take rootless tillers and lateral buds from the leaf axils and place them in a shaded place for drying treatment. In summer, for 0.5 to 1 day, and in spring and autumn, for 2 to 3 days. After the wound is slightly dry, cuttings can be made, or the use of root promoting powder can improve the survival rate and shorten the time for root formation. After cutting, spray thoroughly with water, and then keep the soil slightly moist. After the roots have formed, spray 0.1% phosphorus acid potassium, and the seedlings can be transplanted after about 2 months of cultivation in the seedbed.

Tissue Culture: Tissue culture is an important method for rapidly propagating a large number of aloes. However, due to limited family conditions, it will not be introduced.

The above is the small experience of aloe propagation in green plants and flowers, hoping to bring help to you in life!
