White Star Mammillaria plumosa - belongs to the Mammillaria genus of the Cactaceae family, native to Northern Mexico, growing in the crevices of gravel or cobblestones. The stems are small, round, densely tufted, 5-7 cm in diameter, deep green, densely covered with white feathery spines; axillary areoles have white long wool; there are 40 spines, all radial, 0.3-0.7 cm, grayish-white or white; flowers are small, white, petals with brown or red midribs; seeds are brown.
