Descendant Balls, a dwarf flat spherical cactus. The base of the sphere easily produces descendant balls, often forming large clusters. The sphere is green. The base of the ridges is composed of spirally arranged tubercles, with the tip of the tubercles being areoles bearing grayish-white fine short spines. The flowers are numerous, blooming from the middle and lower part of the stem, funnel-shaped, and bright red. Flowering period is from March to May. It prefers a ventilated environment and plenty of sunlight, but does not tolerate direct strong sunlight. It requires well-drained calcareous soil. Descendant Balls are suitable for potting and as indoor decorations.
