False Cereus is an epiphytic succulent plant. It has many branches and the plant shape is often pendulous and umbrella-like. The stem nodes are flat, similar to those of Cereus, fleshy, and light green. There are bristles on the areoles, and the flowers bloom on the top of the stem node areoles. Commonly cultivated varieties include bright red, pink, apricot yellow, or pure white. The flowering period is from March to April. It prefers a warm and humid environment, requires shade in summer, and a sunny environment in winter. It grows well in loose, well-drained sandy loam soil. Its potted plants are suitable for decorating guest rooms, balconies, and reception halls.
