Fengmingwan is a variety of Mammillaria with very beautiful tubercles, round in shape, solitary or clustering. The stem has no white latex, and the axillary part of the tubercles has more white cotton-like hair. There are 30-40 radial spines, white in color; there are 2-4 central spines, white to yellow, one of which has a hook. Fengmingwan is often confused with Mingfengwan, which is indeed difficult to read, but the two varieties are easy to distinguish. Mingfengwan is also called Pere. They can be easily distinguished by their areoles and tubercles. The flowers of Fengmingwan are about 1.5 cm in diameter, small, with light red to pink petals, blooming from May to July, cross-pollinated. The fruit of Fengmingwan is a convex red berry.
