It is believed that most flower enthusiasts, like Huahua, have raised their first pot of flowers, which is the very cute succulent plant. Succulents have always captured the hearts of thousands of flower enthusiasts with their cute appearance. However, succulent plants are not as easy to care for as flower enthusiasts imagine. It is a bit challenging for新手 flower enthusiasts to raise them well. Today, Huahua is here to share 5 small experiences of my own in caring for succulents, hoping to help everyone!

1. Soil

Succulents prefer to grow in dry soil environments, mainly in loose and breathable sandy soil, as this type of soil has better drainage and breathability, which is more suitable for succulent growth. Also, when you buy succulents from the flower market, it's best to change the potting soil on a warm day, as the soil that comes with it is not very suitable for its healthy growth.

2. Temperature

Another important aspect of caring for succulents is to ensure a suitable growth temperature. Generally speaking, 15 to 25 degrees Celsius is the most suitable for their growth. However, as long as the temperature does not exceed 35 degrees or drop below 5 degrees, most succulents will not enter a dormant period and will continue to grow normally.

However, while ensuring a suitable temperature, it is also necessary to ensure a good ventilation environment when caring for succulents. Otherwise, they will become very lethargic if they grow in a stuffy and hot environment, affecting their ornamental value.

3. Water

Succulent leaves are relatively thick and have a certain water storage capacity, so their water requirement is not high. Generally, they can be watered more frequently in spring and autumn, about once a week, every half month in summer, and once a month in winter. Flower enthusiasts should also summarize their watering experience based on the actual situation of their own succulents. Signs of dehydration include wilted and soft leaves, and watering thoroughly in time can help them recover slowly.

4. Light

Succulents also have certain requirements for light. They enjoy sunny weather, and if flower enthusiasts can ensure they receive more than 8 hours of adequate sunlight every day, the succulents at home will grow very beautifully. Therefore, placing them directly on a south-facing balcony or windowsill for care during the spring, autumn, and winter seasons is sufficient.

However, proper shading is needed in the summer because too much sunlight can burn their leaves, preventing the succulents from growing healthily, or even endangering their lives.
