The cultivation method of succulent Yulü
This article brings you some experience in growing succulents, the cultivation method of succulent Yulü, let's follow the editor to take a look!
For新手 plant lovers, the cultivation method of succulent Yulü still needs to be observed more, during the cultivation process of Yulü, the window surface should be full and transparent, and attention should be paid to watering and maintenance in daily life. After a period of observation and exploration, some knowledge of Yulü cultivation in a home environment and techniques have been gradually understood. Today, I will share some personal experiences in home cultivation.
1. Yulü's performance in the changing seasons
The suitable temperature for Yulü growth is between 15~25 degrees, and the humidity should be controlled between 70~90%. Taking Shanghai as an example, the spring and autumn seasons have suitable temperatures, and Yulü grows rapidly. Often, the sap inside is not full, like an underinflated balloon, and the window surface has a slightly low luster with white powder.
In summer, the temperature suddenly rises, Yulü stops growing and enters a dormant state, the window surface turns white and the transparency decreases.
In winter, the indoor temperature should be maintained above 5 degrees, the growth is slow, showing a semi-dormant state, the sap inside is full, like an fully inflated balloon, the window surface has the highest luster and the best transparency.
2. Watering Yulü in different seasons
In spring and autumn, when the temperature is suitable, if Yulü starts to grow vigorously, it indicates that the root system is strong. After the potting soil dries, the soil can be watered thoroughly and placed in a ventilated area for a few days to remove excess moisture before keeping it moist.
In summer, the temperature is high, Yulü stops growing, the window surface transparency decreases, and the rootlets dry up and lose their water absorption ability, so watering should be stopped. Spraying can be done in the evening to humidify and relieve leaf shrinkage.
In winter, if the temperature is above 10 degrees, Yulü will still grow slowly, keeping the potting soil slightly moist. This is the most suitable time for keeping it moist, to increase the transparency of the window surface and enhance its ornamental value. When the minimum temperature drops to 5 degrees, frost prevention is needed. After Yulü is frostbitten, the window surface turns white, affecting its ornamental value.
3. How to create a suitable small environment for home cultivation
The humidity suitable for Yulü is between 70-90%. Clearly, it is necessary to create a moist environment. Specific methods include: placing a plastic cup on the pot, covering the storage box with plastic film or glass, building a small cabinet or greenhouse with glass or polycarbonate, using stainless steel to separate the anti-theft window, covering it with glass to prevent rain, and using polycarbonate or thick transparent plastic cloth to block the three outer sides, etc. It should be noted that in a smaller space, the temperature and humidity are more likely to fluctuate sharply, which is not good for the plant.
In spring and autumn, the temperature from 12:00 to 15:00 can rise very high, up to 40-50 degrees, so ventilation should be opened before going to work in the morning, and the cover should be put on in the evening to humidify. Remember that during this period, ventilation should be done during the day and kept moist at night; many friends reverse it, and the plant will have problems.
In summer, high temperature and humidity are fatal to Yulü, and ventilation and cooling should be the main focus during this period. Remember not to keep it moist, and spray the plant with water in the evening on sunny days.
In winter, it is the most suitable time for keeping it moist, as it can keep warm and increase the transparency of the window surface, enhancing its ornamental value. In colder regions, foam insulation boxes should be used.
Four, planting, soil matching, and potting
First, place larger particles of orchid stone at the bottom of the pot, put Yulü in and let the roots spread out. Hold Yulü with one hand and pour in a mixture of a small amount of peat, vermiculite, and red jade granular soil along the four walls. Some people may think that red jade becomes powdery after a long time, but I use hard red jade soil, which has good hardness. Spread the soil to two-thirds of the pot. It should be mentioned that the soil covering the roots should be kept slightly moist, which is beneficial for root growth. Next is to cover the surface with pure granular soil, up to 0.5 centimeters from the edge of the pot, completing the surface covering. After potting, spray some water with a spray bottle, keeping the soil surface slightly moist. Then place it in a shady and ventilated area, and after 3-5 days of rooting, it can be exposed to normal light.
The above [] introduces the specific introduction of the cultivation method of succulent Yulü (experience), hoping to bring some floral knowledge to flower enthusiasts.
