The Fleshy Finches is a perennial succulent plant with leaves resembling the tail feathers of a sparrow, hence the name. The plant has a shrub-like appearance, usually branching at the base, with cylindrical, upright stems. The succulent leaves are opposite and sessile, with inverted ovate leaves, irregular wavy edges, about 10 cm long, blue-gray to gray-green in color, covered with a thin layer of white powder, and adorned with red-brown to purple-brown spots or blotches. The overall plant has a white, pale green appearance, giving a fresh and comfortable feeling. The flowers are white, but they are rarely seen in cultivation. It is often cultivated as an ornamental leaf plant.
