Bloody Marian Adromischus Plant Properties
Chinese Name: Bloody MarianAlias: Latin Name: Adromischus marianae 'Red Mutation'Family and Genus: Crassulaceae, Aeonium GenusPlace of Origin: Distributed in the Karoo Plateau, South AfricaBloody Marian Adromischus Plant Introduction
Bloody Marian is a horticultural variety of Marian. It is a perennial succulent herb, a small variety. The plant leaves are arranged in opposite pairs. It is a dwarf succulent shrub with fleshy leaves 2-4 cm long, leafless but with a narrow base, the apex flat and pointed, the leaves are spindle-shaped, with dense, tiny warts on the leaf surface, and the leaves are densely covered with large purple-red spots. The plant stands upright with a relatively thick stem, not prone to growing tall. Bloody Marian needs ample sunlight for the leaf spots to become deep purple and dense, making the plant form tighter and more beautiful. Insufficient sunlight results in light leaf color and loose, elongated leaf arrangement. With good lighting, some leaves can grow to 3-4 cm long, forming a thumb group, the leaf shape resembling a shuttle, but the plant grows relatively slowly. After many years of clustering, it becomes very spectacular. The flowers form racemes, small with five-lobed tips, blooming from May to July.
