Conophytum brunneum, belonging to the Aizoaceae family and Conophytum genus, is native to the Little Namaqualand region, Cape Province, South Africa. The plant is small with many dark spots on its surface, the succulent leaves are inverted teardrop-shaped with a slight edge at the top. When exposed to sufficient sunlight, the plant will turn red. It easily forms clusters. Each year, it sheds 2-3 heads, and if not well cared for, it can easily die or lose a few heads. It cross-pollinates and blooms at night.
