Introduction to the Clubfoot Tree Plant

The Clubfoot Tree is a fleshy plant from the Apocynaceae family. It has a succulent stem that can grow to 1.5 to 1.8 meters tall, without branches, and is densely covered with 5 cm long spines. The spines are distinctive, with the stem tip clustering elongated ovate leaves during the growing season, which are green and relatively pale, with wavy leaf edges. The leaves fall off during the dry season. The flowers emerge from the axils of the leaves, with yellow petals and brownish-red绒毛 (velvet). Due to its rarity, it is rarely introduced to our country. The Clubfoot Tree is one of the first fleshy plants to be classified as a first-class protected species. Its suitable growing medium can be sandy loam soil mixed with some calcareous materials.
