The Buddha Belly Tree is a succulent, deciduous shrub, with a height of 40—50cm. The stem is robust, with a dichotomous fork at the tip, fleshy, and the middle part is swollen, resembling an oval club shape. The stem bark is rough, with shield-shaped leaves clustering at the top of the branches. The leaf back is pinkish green, and the leaf surface is green. The cyme is terminal, with oblanceolate petals in orange red, blooming continuously throughout the year. The fruit is elliptical, and the seeds are blackish brown. It has a strong vitality, unique plant shape, and is easy to cultivate, making it an excellent potted flower for indoors. It can also be cultivated in warm gardens, or used as an ornamental tree or for making crafts.
