Cyclamen, also known as Carrot Begonia, Rabbit's Ear Flower, Rabbit Flower, First-Rate Crown, Canopy Fireworks, and Turned Petal Lotus, is a perennial herbaceous plant of the Primulaceae family's Cyclamen genus. Cyclamen is a commonly planted flower, suitable for indoor pot planting, and requires greenhouse planting in winter. Some cultivated varieties of cyclamen have a strong fragrance, while others have a light scent or no scent at all. The term "Cyclamen" is a transliteration of the scientific name, and due to the clever transliteration, it gives the flower name the connotation of "fairy guests gracefully arriving." Cyclamen is the city flower of Qingzhou, Shandong Province, and was also the mascot for the 43rd World Table Tennis Championships held in Tianjin in 1995.
