Aroid Water Cultivation
Today, the editor will share experience in hydroponic flowers. Let's talk about Aroid Water Cultivation. Next, the editor will introduce it.
Chinese Name:滴水观音 (Dīshuǐ Guānyīn) - Alocasia macrorhiza
Alias: Guangdong Langdu, Wild Taro, Single Foot Lotus, Old (H) Taro; Also known as: Dīshuǐ Guānyīn, Dīshuǐ Lián
Family Araceae, Genus Alocasia, with good medicinal value and ornamental value. Distribution: Originally produced in the southern and southwestern parts of China.
Evergreen perennial large herb, can reach a height of 3 meters. Stalks are robust, tea-colored, with sticky liquid in the stem. Leaves are large, 30-90 cm long, arrow-shaped, main lateral veins convex on the back of the leaf, leaf shield-shaped, leaf stalk can reach 1 meter long, spathe light green to white, lower part green, 10-20 cm long. It has the effect of clearing air dust. It is an ornamental flower plant that prefers warm, humid, and plenty of sunlight, usually blooming in spring, not cold-resistant. Growth temperature: 18-32°C, below 18°C, in a dormant state, stops growing. Overwintering temperature not lower than 6°C.
Alocasia flowers and seeds indoor with too dark light cause leafy stems to grow. Placing it in a bright indoor area or using daylight lamp to supplement light for a hydroponic滴水观音 (Dīshuǐ Guānyīn) of three years, if not ventilated in summer, it causes stem rot, after cleaning, rinse with clean water and apply fungicide to the wound. Long-term failure to change water results in poor root development and reduced plant resistance.
Taro Virus Disease: [Symptom characteristics] The whole plant gets the disease, and the plant becomes dwarfed in severe cases. There are three types of leaf symptoms: One is that the shape of the diseased leaves is basically normal, with yellow and green feather-like patterns along the veins on the leaf surface, which is different from the general mosaic virus symptoms. The second is that the shape of the diseased leaves is abnormal, the leaves are smaller and slightly wrinkled. The third is that the leaves are slightly smaller, twisted, and the veins are obviously prominent, appearing thick.
The pathogenic virus寄生 in taro corms, transmitted by red spiders and aphids. At home, mainly clean with clean water, in severe cases, use 2,000 times laundry detergent to clean, then rinse with clean water.
Control: Supplement light, spray foliage fertilizer to increase resistance, increase ventilation.
