1. Before planting the narcissus bulbs, you can make a V-shaped cut on both sides of the main bulb. Only cut the鳞茎 (bulb scales), and be careful not to hurt the tender leaf buds. After cutting, soak for about two days to remove the sticky liquid, then rinse clean. 2. Place the narcissus bulbs that have been treated to germinate upright in a shallow narcissus pot, adding water to cover 1/3 of the bulb. It is recommended to use a special narcissus pot from Fengfeng Garden or other containers. You can use quartz sand or cobblestones to secure the bulbs in the container, with the water covering 1/3 of the bulb.
3. During the day, place the narcissus pot in a sunny location, and at night move it indoors, emptying the water to control the excessive growth of leaves. In the morning, add clean water again, making sure not to move the direction of the bulbs. When first planted, the narcissus can be watered once a day, then every 2-3 days after that. When the flower buds form, change the water once a week. Narcissus grows well at temperatures between 10-15 degrees Celsius and can bloom in about 45 days, with the flowering period lasting over a month.
4. During the hydroponic period of narcissus, it is especially important to provide ample sunlight. During the day, it should be placed in a sunny spot, and at night under a light. This can prevent the stems and leaves from growing too long, making the narcissus leaves short, wide, and thick, robust, and the leaf color dark green, with fragrant flowers. Generally, no fertilizer is needed for hydroponic narcissus. If conditions allow, a small amount of fast-acting phosphorus fertilizer can be applied during the flowering period to make the flowers even better.
5. No fertilizer is needed to grow narcissus, just clean water is sufficient. To make the narcissus grow strong, it should be placed in the sun on the balcony during the day. If you want to delay the flowering period, you can lower the water temperature or empty the pot water in the evening and add clean water again in the morning. Additionally, if no full flower buds are visible 10 days before the festival, you can use the method of warming the water to promote flowering, with the water temperature close to body temperature.
