The leaves are broadly cordate, entire, recurved outward, dark green on the upper surface, and light green on the lower surface; stipules are membranous, mostly adherent to the petiole, with sparse fringed hairs on the edge, and early deciduous. The flowers are solitary at the top of the stem, with white petals, oblong, obovate, or resembling a lyre shape; the fruit is obovoid, brown, and contains many seeds; the seeds are oblong, brown, and glossy. The flowering period is from July to August, and the fruiting period begins in September.
