What to do after the flowering of Cineraria
This article introduces you to the knowledge of the herbaceous flower Cineraria, how to deal with it after flowering, and then let's understand it together.
Cineraria has many advantages, such as a variety of colors and cheap prices, so most flower friends buy the finished product from the flower market. However, they want to know how to deal with Cineraria after flowering, thinking about whether they can continue to raise it next year.
Cineraria is a perennial herbaceous plant that can be raised for many years, but it is usually cultivated as an annual or biennial plant. Sown in autumn and flowering in the following spring, the reason for this is that Cineraria is not heat-resistant and will not survive when the temperature reaches 30℃. Therefore, most flower friends' Cineraria cannot survive the summer and will wither after flowering. If the climatic conditions allow, it can survive the summer and continue to be raised.
Of course, Cineraria is not necessarily disposable. After flowering, you can collect seeds and sow them in autumn. However, not all Cineraria can produce seeds because it is a cross-pollinated plant. So if you only buy one pot and it flowers at the seller's place, it may naturally pollinate. If it hasn't bloomed when you buy it, then there will basically be no seeds in one pot.
Because Cineraria comes in many colors, the color of the flowers from the seeds we collect the following year is generally not the same as the original.
Let's briefly talk about pollinating Cineraria. You can use a cotton swab to collect pollen from different Cineraria to achieve pollination. The seeds of Cineraria are similar to dandelions, with fluffy fibers on them. After collecting the seeds, dry them in a cool and shaded place, then seal and store them for sowing in autumn.
By now, do flower friends know what to do after the Cineraria flowers? Honestly, because Cineraria is not expensive and has a long flowering period, it usually costs about 10 yuan per pot and can be appreciated for about three months. The management is also relatively simple. Therefore, it is not recommended for flower friends to go through the trouble of preserving it, because the Cineraria we buy are all from greenhouses and have been forced to bloom. If we grow Cineraria from seeds, the flowers may not be as full as the ones we buy.
The above sharing on how to deal with Cineraria after flowering is hoped to bring some flower knowledge to flower enthusiasts.
