In winter, it's best to grow this flower, which is more beautiful than orchids and more beautiful than peonies, cold-resistant, bright in flower color, and fragrant.
Many friends are very fond of growing flowers and beautiful green plants. With a potted plant that continuously blooms, it can be placed anywhere in the house and matches well. However, in the cold winter, usually blooming flowers like roses and snowflakes begin to quiet down, and orchids and peonies stop blooming. There is a kind of flower that is different; it blooms at the coldest time, from winter to April or May of the following year. It has a relatively long flowering period, and it is the camellia. Moreover, there are many types, such as Xiangfei camellia, Hualu Zhen, Hongchi Dan, Dongfang Liang, etc.
Camellia flowers are relatively large, with double petals layer upon layer, and rich in flower colors. There are elegant white flowers, pink, bright red, and various mixed colors. When they bloom, the leaves are lush and green, the flowers are fresh, elegant, and grand. The flowers are large, more beautiful than roses, more beautiful than orchids, and have a faint fragrance. To夸张 a bit, they are even more durable and attractive than peonies. Nowadays, there are more and more varieties of camellias, and some have very attractive fragrances. Keeping a pot indoors will make the fragrance more prominent, and the room will be filled with a refreshing fragrance. So, how should camellia potted plants be maintained?
There are three key techniques for growing camellias: large flowers, long flowering period, and blooming in cold weather
1. When you first get the camellia potted plant at home, place it in a semi-shaded and well-ventilated area, allow it to acclimate for about a week, and do not place it in direct sunlight, as this will make its leaves wilt and look unhealthy.
2. If you are just starting to care for it, do not rush to prune the roots or change the potting soil. Plant it in slightly larger pots with the original soil, prepare some decomposed leaf soil, river sand garden soil, some slow-release fertilizer, and granular soil, or you can add other components to peat soil. Place some organic fertilizer at the bottom of the pot as a base fertilizer.
How to grow camellias
This kind of potting soil will not easily compact and will be more breathable and drain better. As long as the potting soil is fertile and loose, its growth will be better later on. As long as the potting soil is good, loose, breathable, and fertile, it may only be a small seedling when it is first planted, only 30 centimeters tall, but within half a year, it can grow up to one meter tall and even fill with flower buds.
3. When growing camellias in winter, if you want them to bloom earlier, you can place them on the indoor balcony where the temperature is higher, and they will bloom earlier. If the indoor temperature reaches 20 degrees, the flowering period will be advanced and very beautiful, with continuous blooming. However, when caring for them indoors, it is first necessary to ensure sufficient sunlight and then maintain a certain humidity level. If the air is dry and the humidity is insufficient, the flower buds may dry out.
By caring for camellias in this way, their branches and leaves will be more lush, the flowers will be brighter and more vibrant, the leaves will turn dark green and shiny, and the growth speed will accelerate. Within a few months, they will grow more branches and new stems.
