Camouflage banana care

Unknown from when, plants with variegated leaves have become increasingly popular, especially various tropical plants, including common ones like Monstera deliciosa, Philodendron, Epipremnum aureum, or Alocasia macrorrhizos. As long as the leaves are variegated, their prices will double and double again. Are they really worth our pursuit?
Musa Aeae, like an oil painting
Many of the variegations on plant leaves are natural mutations (except for drug-induced variegations, which are made by damaging the chlorophyll of young leaves with sprays), these mutated variegated plants look particularly enchanting. The variegated parts lack chlorophyll (this can also be considered an "abnormal" beauty), and the difficulty of care will increase.
Even bananas are not immune. Variegated banana varieties are commonly called camouflage bananas, with the English name Musa Aeae (or variegated banana). The leaves have irregular patterns of white, light green, and dark green, resembling an oil painting. This makes the banana a favorite ornamental leaf plant among gardening enthusiasts.

How to care for camouflage bananas
This plant can also be purchased in China, but it is very expensive, with a seedling costing over a thousand yuan (also a few hundred dollars abroad). It cannot be propagated by seeds but only by constantly dividing small suckers from the base of the rhizome, similar to common bananas. After the pseudostem (as bananas are herbaceous plants) flowers and bears fruit, it will wither, and new suckers will grow from the base of the rhizome.
Overseas, propagation through tissue culture has already begun, which will continuously reduce the cost of propagation and thus the price will also decrease. However, seedlings cultivated through tissue culture also cost over a thousand yuan.

The camouflage banana is a very special variety, with its leaves and the fruits (bananas) it bears being camouflage-colored. It is so beautiful that you would not want to eat it. When fully mature, it turns yellow. The taste of this camouflage banana is not much different from that of common small yellow bananas.
