How does the desert rose survive the winter?

A plant knowledge, introducing flower cultivation常识 about the desert rose. How does the desert rose survive the winter? Please refer to the detailed introduction below.

I have been growing desert roses for many years. They can survive in temperatures ranging from 0 to 15 degrees without watering in the winter as long as there is plenty of sunlight every day. The pot should be placed on an elevated spot and not fully on the ground. The soil should be dry, and the plant should be fully grown. Temporary temperatures of 0 degrees are fine (with abundant sunlight and high temperatures during the day, and low temperatures at night, with the lowest temperatures in the morning, but the morning cold is short-lived as temperatures rise with the sun). If there is insufficient sunlight, severe soft rot disease can occur even if the temperature is maintained at 15 degrees.

Every year at home, the lowest temperature in the morning can reach -3 degrees, but with enough sunlight, there is no rot. This year, we experienced a once-in-50-years extreme low temperature with no sunlight for half a month. Although the greenhouse conditions were good, maintaining a temperature of 15 degrees with a minimum of 12 degrees, almost all of the 300 large blooming plants, including the recently collected varieties, and 400 medium-sized plants were wiped out. It is normal for a few of the grafted balls to rot every winter, and quite a few did rot this year as well. It's not just the temperature that determines success or failure; all conditions must be considered. The above is for reference only.

The small experience of how the desert rose survives the winter mentioned above is hoped to bring help to you in your daily life!
