How to raise the other shore flowers

In courtyard landscaping, the Lycoridaceae plant Paradiana is popular for its unique Manjusa flower form. This perennial bulbous flower native to the Yangtze River Basin in China blooms fiery red or pure white flowers every summer and autumn, in sharp contrast to the slender green leaves. To achieve such an amazing garden effect, several key maintenance elements need to be mastered. The three major factors of environmental control: light and temperature balance. As a typical semi-shade plant, it is recommended to use a sunshade net with a 60% shading rate for light regulation. In spring and autumn, light should be scattered for 3-4 hours a day, and shading should be strengthened during high temperature periods in summer. When planting, choose the planting position below the trees to ensure air circulation and form a natural shade barrier. The water management cycle adopts the "dry and wet" irrigation method. Soil micro-tide is maintained during the spring germination period, and water needs to be strictly controlled during the summer hibernation period. It is recommended to equip a drainage layer for potted planting. A mixed substrate of broken tiles and ceramsite can be used to prevent accumulation of water and causing rot of the bulbs. In winter, watering should be carried out at noon, and the water temperature should be close to the ambient temperature. Fertilizer selection and application bone meal is used as base fertilizer during the germination period in March every year, and phosphorus and potassium fertilizers are added during the flower bud differentiation period in May. It is recommended to use decomposed soybean cake water diluted 800 times for topdressing, and apply it every 15 days. Pay attention to avoid excessive nitrogen fertilizer, otherwise it may lead to excessive leaves and affect the quality of flowering. Maintenance points in special seasons need to strengthen ventilation during high temperature periods in summer, and water can be sprayed on the ground to cool down. In severe winter areas, it is recommended to cover pine needles with a thickness of 5 cm in soil layer for thermal insulation. When potted plants overwinter, they can be moved to the indoor window sill to face the sun and keep the temperature at no lower than 5℃.
