How long does the kapok flower bloom?

Here I would like to share my experience in green plant maintenance regarding the blooming period of kapok flowers and the differences between hibiscus and kapok flowers. If there are any mistakes, please feel free to correct them!

Hibiscus flowers are large, colorful, and have dense leaves; the tree can grow tall or into a bush; it is an ornamental flowering tree around the courtyard. It is the provincial flower of Hunan.

It has a strong germination ability, and when the cuttings are planted in the spring, they can bloom in the same year. The young seedlings, when transplanted, can grow and bloom in the same year. It does not have high requirements for the environment and soil quality, but it is a bit afraid of drought.

It is also known as the wood hibiscus or kapok. Because its flowers resemble the flowers of cotton plants, some people call it the kapok flower. Others call it the color-changing flower or the tricolor flower. It blooms in October every autumn, with the whole tree's flower buds blooming one after another, lasting nearly a month.

The most interesting and aesthetically appealing aspect is that the flowers open to greet the morning sun, with a delicate and elegant color, pink with a hint of red. By noon, the flowers turn pink. By around 3 PM, the flowers turn deep red. By dusk, the flowers gradually close up. The next morning, the petals open again.

This beautiful flowering tree is easy to propagate and grow. In winter, cut the trunk into sections about 40 centimeters long and bury them in wet sand. Even if the sand heap is outdoors, it will be fine. No special treatment or further observation is needed.

The following spring, dig up the buried stakes to check, and if there are sprouting roots, they can be planted in a suitable place, or directly inserted into the soil 15 centimeters deep. Wait for them to sprout and grow branches. If the ground is dry, you can water it moderately.

When the seedlings show growth, necessary pruning should be done. The hibiscus tree enjoys fertilizer, sunlight, and moist soil. This flowering tree should not be planted in shaded areas, as it will affect growth and the quality of flowering.

The above is [] about how long the kapok flower blooms and the differences between hibiscus and kapok flowers, hoping it is helpful to you!
