How to care for cyclamen flowers

How to care for cyclamen

The internet tells everyone about the knowledge of the bulbous flower cyclamen, how to care for cyclamen, and the following is an introduction in detail.

For novice flower enthusiasts, learning how to care for cyclamen is the first thing to understand. Most people buy finished cyclamen from flower shops or greenhouses, and after bringing it home, they immediately change the pot for the sake of appearance. Some place it in a sunny spot, some soak the pot in water, some put it on radiators or under floor heating, some wash the leaves with water, some dig into the potting soil to look, and some apply fertilizer right away. Which type are you? Stop it, flower enthusiasts!!!

The above is not directed at anyone in particular, it's a common problem, so please forgive me. Let me share my method (accumulated over a few years): A few words about watering – I never soak the pot (except for seedlings 1-6 months old), I always pour water around the edge of the pot (on the premise that one-third of the bulb is exposed). After buying cyclamen and bringing it home:

1. Place it in a dimly lit area for 5-7 days to let it get accustomed to the environment (temperature and humidity). Cyclamen products are usually cultivated in greenhouses and greenhouses, and after purchase, the temperature is suitable, but the humidity cannot be controlled.

2. Do not repot, if it's for appearance, just put it in a nice pot.

3. Water slowly, gradually soaking it through, and then gradually increase the amount of water (mainly because I'm afraid it won't adapt to the soil).

4. Never place it on the radiator. Flower enthusiasts with underfloor heating should try to put it on a coffee table (not on a shelf, as the heat can affect it).

5. Do not wash the leaves, they will rot. If there's dirt, wipe it with a damp tissue.

6. Try not to fertilize first, and even if you do, wait until it has adapted to the environment. Remember, less is more.

The above is my opinion. If there are any shortcomings, I hope flower enthusiasts will guide me, and we can learn from each other to improve together!
