How to care for cyclamen
Let me share with you some experiences about the bulbous flower cyclamen. Let's see how to care for cyclamen together!
This article is mainly suitable for cyclamen that you just bought, because some friends who have just bought cyclamen don't know how to care for them. After buying them back, they may start to wilt within a few days, which can be quite frustrating. Now I've found some methods and I hope to share them with everyone. Please correct me if there is anything wrong.
They usually look good when you first buy them, but within a week, they may have a lot of yellow leaves, and both flowers and leaves may fall over. Even after watering, there is no significant relief. Generally speaking, falling over is a sign of lack of water, and it will be fine as long as you water them in time. However, the cyclamen you just bought is not in such a condition due to lack of water.
As we all know, cyclamen prefer a cool and humid environment and often come on the market in large quantities during this season. But the cyclamen we buy from the market are all cultivated in greenhouses, where the humidity is very high, and it's hard for families to achieve the greenhouse environment. Therefore, cyclamen may fall over and have yellow leaves due to the change of environment. If you think it's due to lack of water and water them, it may lead to the rotting of the bulbs.
Since the plant is in a dying state, I tried every possible method to save it.
First, take out the cyclamen entirely, remove some soil around the bulb to expose about 1 cm of the bulb, and try not to damage the roots. Then, put some pebbles at the bottom of the pot, add some moist soil (I used garden soil), and put the cyclamen back in. Place garden soil around it, making it higher in the middle and lower around the edges. Cut off the yellow leaves and at least half of the flowers and flower buds to save nutrients. Place it in a cool, well-ventilated area with scattered light for a few days, and then water it once using the immersion method after a few days. After that, water it when the soil is dry and gradually move it to the position of the windowsill, preferably where it can avoid direct sunlight at noon.
After trying this, the cyclamen that was about to die has started to grow, and no more yellow leaves have appeared. Now it has grown two new leaves.
That's all about how to care for cyclamen (based on the experience of flower enthusiasts) for everyone to learn and understand!
