Iris suaveolens is native to North America and is an annual rosette herb. The fibrous roots are thin and yellowish-white, with many branches. The perianth tube is very short, with villi, the inner and outer tepals are similar in shape and size, arranged in 2 whorls, obovate to oblanceolate, about 1.2 cm long, about 4 mm wide, apex acuminate, white, with light purple stripes, spreading, claw-shaped, bright yellow, and with浓 purple spots.
