How to Plant Strawberries
A little knowledge of life, introducing how to plant strawberries and the experience of green plant maintenance in the aspect of strawberry cultivation and management techniques, let's learn about it together.
Strawberries are perennial herbaceous plants, native to South America, and widely cultivated in various parts of China and Europe. There are many varieties of strawberries, with more than 20,000 nationwide, but only dozens of superior varieties are cultivated on a large scale. Strawberries prefer a cool and warm climate and have strong shade tolerance. Strawberries are rich in nutritional value and are known as the "fruit queen", containing abundant vitamin C, vitamin A, pectin, dietary fiber, etc., which can improve constipation, protect eyesight, and have the effects of beauty and skincare, widely loved by everyone.
Methods of planting strawberries:
1. Choosing Soil
When planting strawberries, choose a pot with good breathability, as the root system of strawberries is shallow and developed. The soil can be purchased as a pre-made nutrient-rich soil or mixed by yourself, using decomposed manure, garden soil, and river sand in a ratio of 3:4:5, adding a small amount of chicken manure and decomposed cake fertilizer to mix, to improve soil fertility and benefit the growth of strawberries.
2. Selecting Transplanting Seedlings
Choose healthy, strong seedlings with good root systems, trim the roots first, cut off the old leaves and creeping stems, leaving 2-3 small leaves.
3. Planting in Potting Soil
When planting, the roots should be evenly distributed, the arch facing outward, and the stem should be upright. Pour the prepared nutrient-rich soil into the pot so that the soil is level with the base of the seedling. Do not plant too deep, as the strawberry roots are shallow, planting too deep can easily cause the seedlings to rot, nor should it be planted too shallow, as it can cause the new buds to be exposed and lead to the drying of strawberries.
4. Watering Management
After planting strawberries, water them once, making sure to water thoroughly. After the water has penetrated, gently lift the seedlings to allow the roots and soil to fully combine, ensuring the roots receive adequate nutrition.
5. Light Management
First, place the strawberries in a semi-shaded area for maintenance, and when the seeds have grown 5-6 true leaves, you can increase the light exposure appropriately.
6. Fertilization Management
Wait for the strawberry leaves to grow to 8-9 pieces before applying some fertilizer to add nutrition to the strawberry seedlings.
