How to plant longan
For many girls, the knowledge related to how to plant longan and the detailed planting methods of longan in the north will be introduced by the editor next.
Recently, I met several gardening friends, and during the conversation, I learned that they were going to buy longan to eat. One of the friends asked if longan can also be planted at home since many fruits and vegetables can be grown indoors.
About this question, many gardening friends have asked before, after all, longan is also considered a tropical fruit, and it may not even be able to grow in southern regions, let alone in northern regions? Some friends have already tried planting it at home, and although most of them failed, there is still one or two gardening masters who successfully grew it and tasted the fruit, their practice can provide some experience for other gardening friends.
Although longan grows best in tropical regions, it doesn't mean it can't grow elsewhere.
In the past, it was said that longan couldn't be planted in the north because the temperatures in the late autumn and winter are too low, and longan can only survive in temperatures above 20 degrees Celsius, it can't tolerate such low temperatures. But now it's different, every household has heating in winter, and the indoor temperature can also meet the growth needs of longan. If taken care of properly, it can even live for six or seven years! Therefore, it's not a bad idea for gardening friends who want to plant longan to try it at home.

So, what does proper care mean? I think the first thing is to adjust the temperature properly, as longan is very sensitive to temperature, and it might freeze to death if the temperature is slightly low. Actually, it's fine in other seasons, it's just that the winter in the north is too cold, even with thick cotton clothes, people can't bear it, let alone a longan tree without clothes! Therefore, gardening friends should not plant longan outdoors, it's better to use a pot indoors for easier survival.
Next is choosing a pot. After all, longan is a tree, and it grows freely in tropical regions. Some friends start planting in a small pot, which is not conducive to the growth of longan. Small pots are more suitable for ornamental potted plants, but if you want longan to bear fruit, it's better to choose a slightly larger pot, which can give leaves and fruits more space and prevent the roots from being too crowded.
In terms of soil selection, gardening friends in the north need to be extra careful. Most of the soil in the north is alkaline, while longan prefers slightly acidic sandy soil. Therefore, if gardening friends want to take soil from nearby, they must improve it, as incorrect pH levels will make it difficult to grow longan well.
