How to care for cyclamen
The editor introduces you to the related introduction of how to care for cyclamen and the cultivation and management of green plants and flowers, let's take a look together!
Seed propagation: Collect seeds, soak them and then plant them in a pot, ensure moisture, and they will germinate in 40 days. Tuber propagation: Cut the tubers into small longitudinal sections from the top, make sure each section contains a bud eye, then dry them and plant them in a pot. Tissue culture: Select some of its external explants, use hormones to induce the growth of small seedlings, and then plant them in a pot.
1. Seed Propagation
Firstly, collect its seeds, and make sure the selected seeds are full and healthy. The seeds just picked may contain more moisture, so we can dry them in the shade for 3 to 4 days and then dry them in the sun. It is best to plant seeds after the beginning of autumn and before light snow. Before planting, soak the seeds in water for a night. Then plant the soaked seeds in the pre-prepared potting soil and water them thoroughly. After that, keep the soil moist and provide it with proper temperature, and it will germinate in about 40 days.
2. Tuber Propagation
This propagation method requires us to cut the tubers ourselves. The timing is usually in late August, because that's when the tubers are about to germinate. Cut the tubers into several small sections from the top, making sure each section contains a bud eye and apply some wood ash to the cut surface for sterilization. Then place them in a cool place to dry, and after that, you can plant them in the pre-prepared pot. As long as you take good care of it, it will quickly grow leaves.
3. Tissue Culture Propagation
You can select the young stems or flower buds from the plant that has been growing for 1 to 2 years as external explants. Then use hormones to induce the growth of small seedlings, among which the stem blocks are the easiest to be induced. If stem blocks are selected as external explants, you can use MS medium. After the seedlings grow, let them gradually accept light and then plant them into the pre-prepared potting soil, provide a suitable environment, and they will quickly grow leaves and bloom. However, this method is not very practical for families, so we usually choose the first two methods.
The introduction of how to care for cyclamen and the specific introduction of cyclamen cultivation and management mentioned above hope to bring some flower knowledge to green plant enthusiasts.
