It is believed that most flower enthusiasts, like Hua Hua, started with a very adorable succulent plant as their first pot of flowers. Succulents have always captured the hearts of countless flower enthusiasts with their cute appearance. However, succulents are not as easy to care for as many flower enthusiasts imagine. It can be challenging for beginners to grow succulents well. Today, Hua Hua is here to share five small experiences I have in caring for succulents, hoping to help everyone!

1. Soil

Succulents prefer to grow in dry soil environments, mainly with loose and breathable sandy soil, as this type of soil has better drainage and aeration, making it more suitable for succulent growth. Also, when you buy succulents from the flower market, it's best to choose a warm day to change the potting soil, as the soil that comes with it is not very suitable for healthy growth.

2. Temperature

One of the important factors in caring for succulents is to ensure a suitable growth temperature. Generally, a range of 15 to 25 degrees Celsius is best for their growth. However, as long as the temperature does not exceed 35 degrees or fall below 5 degrees, most succulents will not enter a dormant period and will continue to grow normally.

However, even with the right temperature, it is also important to ensure good ventilation when caring for succulents, as prolonged growth in a stuffy and hot environment will make them look very unenergetic, affecting their ornamental value.

3. Watering

Succulent leaves are relatively thick and have some water storage capacity, so they do not require much water. Generally, they can be watered relatively frequently in spring and autumn, about once a week, once every two weeks in summer, and once a month in winter. Flower enthusiasts should also summarize their watering experience based on the actual situation of their succulents. Signs of dehydration, such as withered and soft leaves, indicate that it's time to water them thoroughly to recover slowly.

4. Light

Succulents also have certain requirements for light. They enjoy sunny weather, and if flower enthusiasts can ensure they receive more than 8 hours of adequate sunlight each day, the succulents at home will grow very beautifully. Therefore, placing them directly on a south-facing balcony or windowsill for care during spring, autumn, and winter is sufficient.

However, in the summer, it is necessary to provide appropriate shading, as too much sunlight can burn their leaves, preventing healthy growth of the succulents, or even threatening their lives.
