How to hydroponically propagate吊兰 branches
A bit of knowledge to share with you on how to hydroponically propagate吊兰 branches and the methods of hydroponic propagation in the field of flowers. Please correct me if there are any mistakes!
吊兰 is one of the most common flower varieties in our lives. Many families grow 吊兰 in soil, but actually, it can also be hydroponically cultivated. Hydroponically grown 吊兰 is cleaner and easier to care for than soil-grown ones. If you have soil-grown 吊兰 at home, you can cultivate hydroponic 吊兰 using the cutting method. Today, let's talk about the cutting method for hydroponic 吊兰!
Hydroponic method for propagating 吊兰 branches
Prepare branches
吊兰 has a strong vitality and grows quickly as long as there are no major problems in its care. 吊兰 that is more than one year old usually grows many branching stems. Many side buds grow on these branches, which can be cut for hydroponic propagation, especially those with white aerial roots at the base, which are the most likely to survive when cut, with a success rate of almost 100%.
Place in a water cup
We cut the side buds from the branches with scissors. (Remember to disinfect the scissors by heating them on fire beforehand) Prepare a few small, preferably transparent water cups for easy observation of the root growth later. Add some clean water to the cups, then place the side buds on top of the cup, allowing the bottom 2 to 3 centimeters of the side buds to be submerged in the water. Do not let the entire side bud soak in water, as it can cause leaf rot. If the cup opening is large and it's not convenient to hold the side bud in place, you can prepare some cardboard sheets and make a hole in them. Place the side bud in the hole of the cardboard, then cover the cup opening with the cardboard, ensuring that only the bottom of the side bud is submerged in water.

Placement environment
After placing the 吊兰 side bud in the water cup, the next step is to wait for it to root. The surrounding environment during the rooting period is particularly important; if the environment is not suitable, the roots will grow slowly or may not grow at all.
The cup should be placed in a bright area but not exposed to direct sunlight, as strong sunlight can cause the leaves to dehydrate and can also sunburn the new tender roots. About 3 to 6 hours of soft scattered light is sufficient each day. The water in the cup should be changed every 3 to 5 days, and you should also regularly check the water level. If the water in the cup is too low and the bottom of the side bud cannot touch the water, you should add water in time. The ambient temperature must be above 12 degrees Celsius; otherwise, new roots will not grow. After about 1 to 2 weeks, white new roots will grow from the bottom of the side bud.
Care precautions
When the roots at the bottom of the cut 吊兰 side bud grow to more than 4, you can take it out of the water cup and place it in a water-filled vase or hydroponic bottle for care. Like soil-grown ones, hydroponic 吊兰 will grow larger over time with proper care. When caring for hydroponic 吊兰, there are three points to pay special attention to:
