The Emperor's Crown is a solitary plant, a small species, and a well-known hard representative of cacti. The stem contains various alkaloids, and its extract has been proven to have antibacterial activity. The spines are thin and needle-like, slightly inward curved, yellowish-white, and early falling. The spines of the old plants are more likely to fall off, and the wart-like protuberances at the lower part of the sphere are also prone to wither or fall off, forming bark-like wrinkles. The flowers are terminal, short funnellike, white or slightly pinkish white, blooming from May to August. Potted Emperor's Crown can decorate the windowsill, desk and table, as a small ornament, it is a rare treasure among cacti.
