The cultivation technology of jasmine and its pest and disease control
An article about the knowledge of jasmine in the field of floral clinic, the cultivation technology of jasmine and its pest and disease control will surely help you. Let's learn about it together!
【Genus and Species】Jasmine is a perennial, near-vine-like evergreen shrub belonging to the Oleaceae family and the Jasminum genus. Fresh jasmine flowers are one of the important raw materials for extracting spices and making scented tea.

【Cultivation】Choose low groundwater level, sunny, convenient for irrigation and drainage, deep soil layer, loose, medium fertility, slightly acidic sandy loam or light clay. Deep plowing, sunning, raking, and preparing ridges with a ridge width of 110 cm, trench width of 30 cm, and trench depth of 25 cm. Plant two rows per ridge. Before planting, apply 15 tons of farm manure per hectare as a base fertilizer, with a plant spacing of 25 cm × 50 cm. Plant 60,000 plants per hectare, and soak the roots with 25% Shibaoke emulsion (1000 times dilution) for 5 minutes before planting. In Yuanyang County, it can be cultivated all year round, but spring and autumn are the best seasons.
【Strengthen water and fertilizer management】 (1) Water management ① Immediately water thoroughly after planting, then spray 2250-3000 ml of Du'a mixture herbicide per hectare to prevent weeds. Note: The medicine should not be sprayed on the jasmine seedlings, only on the trench surface and between rows. ② When new shoots grow after the plants have survived, pay attention to timely watering, top dressing, weeding, and earthing up. Use urea as the main fertilizer, applying frequently and thinly. Do not water the flower field unless it is dry. Water or sprinkle when the soil on the ridge surface turns white due to continuous dry weather. ③ Pay attention to drainage. Excessive water during the flowering season can cause root rot, and yellow leaves due to drought can cause leaf wilting and flower shrinkage, so special attention should be paid to irrigation and drainage.
【Pest and disease control】The main pests and diseases found in jasmine include white绢 disease, jasmine bud borer, leaf mites, cotton bollworm, and thrips. Follow the principle of prevention first, focusing on treatment with high-efficiency, low-toxicity, and low-residue pesticides. To prevent white绢 disease, spray the stem base with 40% Ximen clean (800-1500 times dilution) and 25% Shibaoke emulsion (1000 times dilution) 1-2 times. To control jasmine bud borer, leaf mites, cotton bollworm, etc., spray with 18% Abading emulsion (2500-3000 times dilution) or 40% Lesben emulsion (1000 times dilution) every 7 days, for a total of 3 times. After the annual major pruning, spray 50% sulfur suspension (1000 times dilution) to protect the wounds.
【Harvesting and storage of jasmine】 (1) The standard for harvesting jasmine: clean, plump, budding flowers that can bloom and release fragrance that night. Harvest mature flowers one by one, with fresh flowers required to have buds, peduncles, no diseased or yellow-green buds, and no stems or leaves. (2) Storage and transportation: When harvesting fresh jasmine, use ventilated bamboo baskets and nylon net bags. Avoid direct sunlight and store in a cool place.
