The cultivation methods and techniques for hydroponic Ivy and precautions for hydroponic English Ivy.

Method and Skills for Aquaponics Cultivation of Ivy

Here is a sharing of the method and skills for aquaponics cultivation of ivy, as well as knowledge about the methods and precautions for growing pothos in water. If there are any mistakes, please feel free to correct them!

Yesterday, I noticed that the pothos in my house was growing too disorderly and had some yellow leaves, so I bravely pruned it! The cut branches were then selected and placed in an aquaponic bottle, and to my surprise, they rooted after two days!

Actually, apart from pothos, there are many other flowers that can be propagated by inserting cut branches, which root quickly and have a high survival rate! Therefore, today I will briefly introduce the propagation method for flowers!

1. Ivy

Ivy, like pothos, is easy to grow and durable, and its branches grow even faster! So, regular pruning is necessary, as dense leaves can easily attract small insects!

When pruning the branches, keep the length around 15cm, but if you plan to grow them in soil, the length should be halved and leave a 3cm gap for planting!

Before aquaponics, the lower leaves should be trimmed slightly so that they don't immerse in water, and then placed in a place with diffused light, like the living room! Before the roots grow, don't change the water first. If the water level drops, you can add new water!

After two weeks of rooting, you can transfer it to soil, as the temperature is changing every day, and the amount of watering must be controlled. In the north, it will soon be time to turn on the heating, so we can spray water on it every three days to prevent the leaves from drying out and falling off!

2. Rockcress

When I was watering the rockcress, I accidentally broke a branch with a bud on it. Seeing that the flower hadn't bloomed yet, I felt it was a pity, so I put it in an aquaponic bottle. Later, not only did it bloom, but it also sprouted many new buds, which was a blessing in disguise!

After the rockcress branch roots in water, it's best to add two drops of hydroponic nutrient solution every half month. My plant has already grown two "little beans" at the bottom. Flower friends with heating at home in winter, take note not to place it on the heater, but directly on the south balcony, where moderate sunlight will be more beneficial for new sprouts!

3. Green豆瓣

Although the green豆瓣 is shade-tolerant, it doesn't mean it dislikes sunlight. Insufficient light for a long time can lead to leggy growth, and the branches will become thinner and the leaves will become thinner. Therefore, to prevent the continued consumption of nutrients, the leggy branches should be pruned as soon as possible. However, the cut branches can still be propagated, which is not a loss!

For soil cultivation, pay attention to moisture, especially in this season. To prevent the leaves from wilting, you can cover it with a plastic bag, including the soil. Then open it to ventilate at noon every other day. In no more than a week, it should root and survive!
