How to cultivate green radish with water in winter
In winter, hydroponics green radish can not only purify indoor air but also add greenery, but the low temperature environment puts forward higher requirements for the maintenance of hydroponics plants. Mastering scientific maintenance methods can keep green radish green and straight in the cold season, and even achieve growth against the trend. Water quality selection and treatment of the core elements of hydroponic green radish winter management is recommended to use soft water with a TDS value of less than 100 in winter, and rainwater needs to be filtered and settled before use. Tap water must be left standing for more than 48 hours, and 2-3 drops of water stabilizer can be added to accelerate the volatilization of chlorine. The pH value of water quality is tested every week and the best is to maintain it within the weak acid range of 5.8-6.5. Water change frequency and skills Water change every 3 days in the unrooted stage. The "semi-water change method" is used for rooted plants: 1/3 of the raw water volume is retained and warm water at 18-22℃ is replenished. Gently wipe the roots with a soft brush when changing water to remove the mucus layer. It is recommended to add a special nutrient solution for hydroponic cultivation once a month, and the concentration should be controlled at 2/3 of the amount used in the instructions. Light and temperature control ensure 4 hours of scattered light irradiation per day, and full-spectrum plant fill light can be used to assist. Avoid exposure to cold radiation at night and place it more than 30cm away from the window. When the water temperature is lower than 12℃, the constant temperature heating rod should be activated to maintain the water temperature within the ideal range of 15-25℃. Root health management Regularly check root status and prune immediately if browning is found. Keep more than 5cm of white healthy roots and apply charcoal powder to the incision for disinfection. Rameting overdense root systems, retaining 3-5 main roots per plant to promote oxygen absorption.
Through the four key measures of water quality management, water change skills, light and temperature control, and root maintenance, green radish can not only survive the winter safely, but also continue to germinate new leaves. Coupled with regular foliar spraying and nutrient supplements, hydroponically cultured green radish will become the most vibrant landscape plant indoors in winter.
