Introduction to Curasao Aloe Plant

Curasao Aloe is a perennial herbaceous plant with a short stem, leaves clustering at the top of the stem, erect or nearly erect, each leaf weighing up to 0.5-1.5 kg, fleshy and juicy; the leaves are narrowly lanceolate, 15-36 cm long, 2-6 cm wide, with a long acuminate apex, a broad base, pinkish green, and edges with spiky teeth. The flower stem is single or slightly branched, 60-90 cm tall; the raceme is loose; the small flowers are about 2.5 cm long, yellow or with red spots; the tubular small flowers have 6 lobes; there are 6 stamens, anthers cruciate; the pistil is 1, with 3 chambers, each chamber containing many ovules. The fruit is a triangular capsule, dehiscent on the back. Flowering period is February to March.

Curasao Aloe can also be used as a houseplant variety. Later, due to artificial selection, many variants have been selected from Curasao Aloe, such as Chinese Aloe, Shangnong Daye Aloe, etc.
