Deviant Flower Primrose Plant Introduction

The Deviant Flower Primrose is a perennial herb. The rhizome is short and thick, with many fleshy long roots. The leaves usually grow in clusters; the leaf blades are oblong, narrowly elliptical, or oblanceolate, both sides sparsely covered with small glands. The scape is 10-60 (90) cm tall, with a white powder on the top (often yellowish after drying); umbel inflorescence, calyx narrowly campanulate, corolla red-purple to deep rose red, throat without annular appendages; capsule slightly longer than the persistent calyx. Flowering period is from June to July, fruiting period is from August to September. Its dried flowers can be used as medicine, with the effects of purging liver fire and clearing damp heat.
