Maoduan Azalea, an evergreen or semi-evergreen shrub, can reach a height of 3m; the corolla is rose red to bright red, with dark red spots on the upper petal; the capsule is ovoid, flowering period is April to May. It prefers a cool and humid environment with plenty of sunlight. Cold-resistant, heat-averse, semi-shaded tolerant, not tolerant to long-term strong sunlight exposure. The soil should be fertile, loose, and well-drained acidic sandy loam.
