The蜂斗草 is a herbaceous or sub-shrub, 20—50 cm tall; stems are obtusely quadrangular, pubescent with spreading coarse hairs and puberulent when young; leaves are papery or nearly membranous, ovate or elliptic-ovate; the inflorescence is a scorpioid cyme or dichotomous cyme, terminal, with the pedicels, and calyces puberulent and sparsely glandular pubescent; petals are pink or light rose in color; the capsule is obconic, flowering from (July-) September-October, fruiting from December to the following February.
