Choose cutting timeThe best time for propagation of Fortune Tree is spring and autumn, as the temperature is suitable for cutting survival during these two seasons. High or low temperatures in summer and winter are not conducive to cutting survival.
Prepare cutting materials1. Cutting seedlings: Choose healthy and disease-free Fortune Trees as cutting seedlings.
2. Cutting substrate: Perlite, vermiculite, river sand and other materials can be used as cutting substrates, which should have good breathability and drainage.
3. Cutting tools: Scissors, horticultural knife, root powder, etc.
Cutting steps1. Choose the right branches: Select vigorous branches of the Fortune Tree, about 10-15 cm long, cut off the leaves at the lower part of the branches, and retain 2-3 leaves at the top.
2. Cut branches: Cut the bottom of the branches obliquely with scissors or a horticultural knife to increase the water absorption area.
3. Treat the wound: Soak the bottom of the cut branches in a rooting powder solution for about 30 minutes to improve the cutting survival rate.
4. Cutting: Insert the treated branches into the cutting substrate, with a depth of about 1/3-1/2 of the branch length.
5. Watering: Water thoroughly after cutting and keep the substrate moist.
Maintenance management1. Temperature: During the cutting period, keep the room temperature at 20-25°C and avoid direct sunlight.
2. Watering: Keep the substrate moist at the initial stage of cutting, and gradually reduce the watering frequency after new buds sprout.
3. Lighting: Maintain sufficient lighting and avoid excessive shading.
4. Fertilization: Start applying a dilute compound fertilizer a month after cutting, once a month.
Precautions1. Before cutting, make sure the cutting substrate is disinfected to avoid infection with bacteria.
2. During the cutting process, avoid breaking or damaging the branches.
3. After cutting, maintain a ventilated environment to prevent diseases.
